Almighty Key? More like All Dorky!

October 19, 2008

So…I recently realized that I should be more careful about what I blog. I seriously think someone from SM’s reading this…ha, just joking. My reason for saying that is because I edited one of my first posts with my tips for the SHINee members and said that although I love Key’s dorktastic ways, sometimes I thought that he talked a little too much and sometimes I wished that he’d just stop talking for like five minutes (that was around episode seven of Yunhanam) AND THEN I noticed that Key’s been really quiet lately. I feel like I don’t hear him much at all during the show, during interviews, he’s even been pretty absent in fancams and the like. OH MY G, I PUT GOAT-MOUTH ON KEY-GUN!!! I’m sorry, Key! I take it back! Be as talkative and in my face as you want! I really miss it now – I’m sorry, I didn’t mean what I said before.

And then as if to remind me of the good old days (what, like a month ago?), SHINee subs just uploaded an Mnet News cut about Key and his self-promoting (*holding up ‘key’ necklace* Key. Key!) and it was full of Key hogging the camera and being his usual, fun-loving, cute, dorky self. I think I really needed that – I got so distracted by his lovely bone structure (aish, that boy’s really good-looking, ne?) and it made me forget just how funny he is as well. I hope he starts hogging the camera again soon – I miss seeing his face too close to the lens. Anyways, watch the video here. credit: shineesubs It’s super cute and funny. And here are some amusing Key gifs of moments included in the interview (by the by, I didn’t save the credit for the gifs so just let me know if you know who made it and I’ll put the credit in):

*Poke poke*

Thumbs Up
Oh, and if someone from SM’s really reading this, can I come work for you as SHINee’s PR manager? I haven’t got any experience but trust me, I know I’d do a good job. Look – I’m already promoting them here! *tries Taemin’s eye flickering* Pretty please?

Aigoo, my boys~

October 18, 2008

I love shineesubs. Did I ever tell you that? No? Well, it’s true. I really, really appreciate all the hard work they put into bringing us international SHINee fans all the best from and about our boys. Anyways, the reason that I’m professing my love for shineesubs once again is because I went there today, meaning to watch some old Yunhanam episodes (oh, my review of Episode 12 is in the works – I’ll post it soon~) and I saw on the first page of videos an ETN SHINee World Special so I was like O.o “What’s this?” And I clicked on it and it turned out to be the footage of their ASF performances coupled with some extra stuff from old interviews and a new interview and backstage footage and stuff like that. Anyway, it was really cute and made me feel quite nostalgic for some reason for their old hairstyles mostly. Ah, they’ve changed so much since they debuted – and that was just the other day! It’s hard to believe – every time I see them perform, I have to remiind myself that they’re still rookies. I mean I know they’re not perfect and they don’t always sound great but you got to admit their lives are pretty darn good for newbies. Ah, I feel so proud of them – then again, I always do~

You know I forgot to say that I had this dream the other night where by some random turn of events, SHINee got stuck in my country (what? A girl can dream – literally) and then my mother invited them to stay at our house because they had nowhere to stay. Ah, you’re probably thinking this is getting good, right? and I must feel really lucky even though this is just a dream – well, you’d only be half-right. You see I was super excited because I’d seen Jonghyun in the mall and I was rushing home to blog about it (INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY TALKING TO HIM! WHAT?! So sad, I’m even dreaming about blogging) and then I saw them – there in my house. So anyway, they were getting settled in the extra room (that we don’t have) and I was eavesdropping because I was freaking out too much to actually talk to them and I heard them saying all this horrible stuff about my mom (who they seemed to forget was letting them stay in our house) and I got really upset and I couldn’t blog about that because I knew no one would believe me so there I was all distressed and disappointed. Then I woke up and I was still distressed even though I knew it was just a dream – it was like my dreams had been dashed and all I could think was “OMG, what if they’re really like that?” But that cute, little behind-the-scenes special (and the old YHM episodes I watched today) reassured me. I think the point of that dream was just to remind me that they’re not perfect and not to set my expectations of them to an impossible standard. I mean I don’t want to idolize them. So that’s why you should watch the video – because it shows different sides of them. It shows that they’re extremely talented and professional and hard-working and it also shows that they’re not perfect, that they make mistakes sometimes and can be even be super annoying (sometimes it sucks to be magnae. You’ll see).

So here are the links – credit goes to shineesubs as always. Watch in HQ! ETN SHINee World Special:

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Oh, make sure to pay attention to Taemin-ah at 1:27 – kyeopta! Oh, and can anyone tell me if they lipsynched SHINee World and Replay Boom Track during ASF because I can’t tell and it’s really bothering me. Thanks in advance!

Laters,

Maki.

And introducing…[EDITED]

October 17, 2008

So you know how I’ve posted about the two BEST FANCAMS EVER? Yes? No? Doesn’t matter. This time, I’m talking about MY favourite fancam ever. It’s probably weird that what I think is the best fancam and my favourite fancam are different but who cares? I’m just cool like that. Anyway, it’s a Jonghyun focused fancam – yes, finally, a video of someone other than MinHo or Onew – and I really like it for a number of reasons. First of all, it’s super funny because JH does these ‘gangsta’ style moves at the beginning that are so at odds with his personality and look and…everything, really – and then it’s a performance after they cut their hair (although MinHo’s looks the same…) and since I am seriously digging Bling’s new haircut, this fancam is just an orgy of eye candy. Lol, I never thought I’d write a sentence like that. It’s funny – I was telling my RL SHINee friend that I felt like my JH love was just stagnant and I was just feeling everybody else more than him but I think this haircut was just the thing to spice things up. Yep, I’ve got eyes only for him again. Oops, bias showing. Anyway, the MAIN reason that this fancam is my favourite though is because it’s the first time I’ve seen Jonghyun look so happy and excited while performing in a long while. I’m not saying he hasn’t been excited about the other performances, I’m just saying this is the first time I’ve seen him look so happy in awhile. Anyway, it’s really nice to see him enjoy himself like that so yeah, this video is a triple threat – there’s humour, hotness and happiness. Now without further ado, here’s the video:

Oh, and if you’re jonesing to see the others during this performance (I would have liked a Key fancam myself), here’s the Taemin fancam. credit for the videos goes to randy1997 on YT, of course.

edit: Guess what? I got linked to a full SHINee ‘Love Should Go On’ fancam (and Jonghyun’s doing the ‘gangsta’ moves again – ROTFL!) Anyways, the quality is terrible – and it’s HQ – but you can see them and thankfully the camera is focused on Key during his rap – just like I wanted! So go watch it now! Here’s the link: SHINee LSGO and LLO fancam (credit goes to yootina on YT)

Enjoy. Maki

Oh, and just in case you don’t want to watch the video – but why wouldn’t you? – here’s a picture of Jonghie with his new haircut:

T.G.F.S.

October 15, 2008

Thank God for SHINee this time…^^

So, I apologize for not posting about any new SHINee stuff – first I was going to talk about their special stage four more like three song medley and then I was going to talk about the official ASF cuts that have finally been uploaded to Youtube but I’ve been feeling super tired lately and haven’t gotten around to it. I will post about them though because they were both awesome and the boys sounded amazing. Hmm, it’s so nice to be able to come home from a hectic day at work (OMG! My second day and I’m already beat) and have something nice to look at so thanks all you YT uploaders.

For now, I’ll just post the links to the videos and then I’ll edit this and talk about them later. Sorry for the brief, boring post.

Can’t stop the tears is right…

October 12, 2008

You know the more solos I hear Onew sing, the more I wonder WHY I NEVER NOTICED JUST HOW INCREDIBLE HIS VOICE IS?! Seriously, what the jail have I been listening to?! Jonghyun. No, but seriously, I’m really starting to think that maybe they should have given Onew a solo on the album instead of Jonghyun just because everyone can acknowledge that Jonghyun’s voice is amazing – we don’t need proof of that – but I feel like we don’t really get an accurate idea of the vocal range that Onew has with the parts that he’s given. I’m not trying to hate on Jonghyun (goodness knows, I love him dearly) but maybe it would have been better to give a solo to Onew-ssi instead. Hmm, next album hopefully…

Anyway in case you were wondering what brought this on – it’s this video I just watched of Onew playing the piano and singing a song called ‘Can’t Stop The Tears‘ originally sung by Park Jin Hyuk. It looks like he was at a radio station from what I can see. Anyway, I think this one’s even better than ‘Cracks of My Broken Heart’ (and that was great) except that that was in English and this one’s not. Now don’t take my word for it – watch it yourself:

ONEW-StreamTears - Sakura

By the way, I’m sorry if I seem biased. I know I post a lot about Onew and Minho and not so much about the others but know that it’s not a bias or anything – it’s just that I think they’re the most under-rated (ok, well maybe not Minho so much) in the group and I just want to spread the love. That’s all. I love my Taeminnie, my Keybum and my Jongjong as well.

Adios, Maki

Oh, by the way, I actually teared up listening to this. That’s never happened to me before. Oh, Onew-ssi…

SHINee Yunhanam Episode 11

October 12, 2008

So…I just finished watching Episode 11 – and I feel sad. And I don’t know why. It’s not like the episode wasn’t funny – it was really funny and scary!noona redeemed herself (by picking Onew! Yes!) but at the end of it, instead of feeling supremely amused like I usually do, I feel sad. Maybe because that was the confirmation that Yunhanam’s ending for good…I’m really going to miss it, you know. That was my Friday night fare. Anyway, on to the episode recap…

Part 1 – So it starts off with like a million commercials (I don’t know what’s up with that. It was like watching regular tv) and then around four minutes, the show itself actually starts. Thank goodness, I was afraid I was being rickrolled. Yeah, so scary!noona a.k.a. comedian Park Jisun’s back and she’s at some performance the boys were doing – I don’t think it was for a music show since they were performing Replay – and she’s watching their performance closely and arguing with the girl standing next to her about who Jonghyun was actually smiling at  LOL and then all of a sudden, you see Onew doing the little hand motion she wanted Jonghyun to do. And even if you don’t see it, they play the clip like twice so you can’t miss it. Make sure to watch Onew’s face when he does it – ha, his expression is so funny! Anyways, then she’s all excited and in the side commentary, she says she was surprised that Dubu-ssi did it for her. Lol, and then the  performance continues and I think Onew does the move two more times – just in case she didn’t see it the first time, I guess – then you see Onew doing his own commentary and he says that he did it because the noona said she would come and cook that stew for them every day for a month f no one did it. Lol, and here I thought he was being nice! (Well, I guess he’s being nice to the other members…) Oh, btw, there’s this cute moment where the camera’s focused on Key while they’re performing and he glances at the camera and smiles – OMG, HE LOOKED SO CUTE! Ha, I forget how good looking Key is sometimes….or maybe I just got used to it? Anyways, then the show ends and the noona leaves and as she’s walking home, the PD asks her how she feels. She says that she’s confused now and that she thinks she made a mistake having the engagement party with Jonghyun now that she’s seen what Onew did for her. She says that she didn’t know her heart would change like that so suddenly. LOL! Well, at least one of the noonas is finally taking notice of Onew’s charms. Right…so then, they cut to the next day and you see Jisun on her way to the boy’s (empty) dorm. She says that she’s made up her mind now and that she’s back with a new heart and new groceries (LOL) – and she then proceeds to cook a tofu dish (ha ha, she made tofu for Onew~). All the while, they splice in shots of the boys on a plane flying to Key’s hometown (according to him anyway – he was very excited) and generally playing the fool as only they can. Onew Sangtae and Jongkey cuteness abound!

Part 2 – So then the noona goes to the boys’ room and decorates the wall above Onew’s bed with pictures of herself and the like and then she sets up a camera in front of the bed and stretches out under a blanket for her final present to Onew. No comment about that. Burn the pig, Onew. Anyways, then it cuts to the boys getting back to the dorm in regular clothes and as they enter, they immediately realize someone’s been there, partly because of the smell. (Pay attention to Onew’s glove, by the way – it’s so Onew-ish, remember I told you he needed his own adjective.) Lol at Jonghyun’s face when he enters the living room – he seriously looks horrified like “No! She didn’t come back, did she?” Then they go to the kitchen where noona has left the tofu dish for Onew and all of the stuff she used to make it. Lol, this time I could actually appreciate the humour in her weird actions. Maybe because this time they were directed at Onew? Anyway so then Jonghyun picks up the tape and suggests they watch it. So they go to the living room and pop the tape into something attached to what I now recognize as a PLASMA SCREEN TV and it’s really funny when they all jump as the noona’s face appears on the screen. I shouldn’t laugh though because it’s probably how they’d react if they ever saw my face – sad but true…anyways, so the noona says that sh made the food for Onew so they have to make sure that he eats it and then she apologizes to Jonghyun because “he was probably anticipating” (JH: “No.”) that she would pick him but she’d going to have to break off their engagement after only one day (cue the festivities here – no, really, they were celebrating) because she’s chosen Onew instead. Lol, this is so backhanded. I want to be happy that Onew finally got chosen but well, I don’t know how happy he was about it. He looks like he wants to die. Onew’s reaction is super funny though – you really felt his pain joy. So then they go to the kitchen and Onew eats the tofu (that he could barely cut – lol!) and then they go to their room and discover the surprise that she left for Onew-ssi. Then JH pretends to be jealous and threatens to kill Onew and Onew collapses in defeat on his bed. Onew says that he’s “not going to take revenge – that he’ll just continue with his Onew Condition” but then adds “Watch out writer noona.” with the SERIOUS!FACE. Lol, Onew’s threatening people! I never thought I’d see the day! Oh, and the noona says that she thinks the SHINee boys are “purer than most their age”. (HOMG! She noticed that too! Ch, I wish I was that pure….is there a way to get back there? Anyone?) So then the noona part’s over and they cut to the boys at the Mnet building where they’ve been called in for an emergency meeting. The PDs tell them that they’ve decided to do a season two (don’t rejoice – it’s a lie) and Key says that he was very excited about doing another season (this, my friends, is called foreshadowing) and then they say that they’re going to talk to everyone individually, starting with Taemin.

Part 3 – So the PD tells Taemin that since he’s the most popular amongst the members, they’re just going to do Taemin’s Yunhanam instead of a second SHINee one. Taemin looks shocked and asks what will happen to the others. So the PD says that they won’t be on it. Taeminnie doesn’t seem too cool with that. Then we see the others in another room, being told about the ‘Taemin’s Yunhanam’ plan and then they put up speakers so the others can hear what is being said. Now this is where it starts to get fuzzy for me – you see, they were supposed to be pranking Taemin with the whole ‘Taemin’s Yunhanam’ thing for a hidden camera gag – but they soon decide to change the prankee/victim to Key because Taemin’s quick-witted and it’s likely that he’ll soon figure out what they’re up to, especially since Key with his lovably pushy self barged into Taemin’s interviews with the ‘potential noonas’ actresses (yes, because in ‘Taemin’s Yunhanam’, he gets to choose the noonas instead of the other way around – obviously, since he wouldn’t have any competition). OMG! And Minho must really share some sort of telepathy with Taemin because he could tell the exact moment when Taemin realized that something was up. Freaky~ Anyway, so then Minho proposes that they change the victim of the prank to Key, who is apparently quite gullible, and everyone goes along with it. So they start to tell Key that he’s being too forward about the whole thing and that he’ll end up getting them found out and he just brushes them off. MEANWHILE Taemin asks the PD if there’s a hidden camera there and the PD’s all like “WHAT? I know not of what you speak.” Right….

So then they have the cutest fake photoshoot ever for the poster for Taemin’s Yunhanam and they explain that the plan was that the others (sans Taemin who still hasn’t been told about this) will start to get angry during the photoshoot and that, of course, will throw Taemin off. Since they’re actually pranking Key however, they actually don’t do anything, leaving poor Key to wonder why they aren’t going along with the plan.

Part 4 – So then Key, being the resourceful, diligent boy that he is, he decides to start the whole act, assuming that the others will fall in line. (Oy, I had to pause for a minute here – if there’s one thing I can’t watch, it’s people embarrassing themselves, especially unwittingly) Anyway so he enlists the help of the staff and then Taemin sort of gets filled in on the joke by Jonghyun (you’ll see what I mean by ’sort of’) and then the ‘fighting’ scenes that you see in the trailer are played out, although they’re a lot more anticlimatic now that you know no one’s really mad. Lol at Minho who doesn’t really get involved in the argument because he’s too busy laughing at the whole situation. So then the PD says that they’re going to go ahead without Key and they start to record the ad for the show while Key is in the back trying to make himself cry using matches (LOL!). Can I mention how weird it looked wen they were doing the ad with only four of them, by the way? It just felt like something was wrong – like there was a big space. I’m obviously too attached to these boys. Anyways, so then Key finally comes back out and they prepare for the reveal. At this point, they show Taemin’s commentary (where he seriously looks like a bumblebee with that white and black striped shirt and frouffy hair – ha, ha, I notice they’re using the frouffy hairstyle on Taeminnie a lot these days….I approve) and he says that he felt like he had become the mother because he was worried about Key. (Lorsh, this child is just made of cuteness, isn’t he? How adorable is that?!) And then the staff brings out a cake and they all start to sing ‘Happy Hidden Camera’ to Taemin, who looks a strange mix of embarrassed and adorable – somehow I feel that unless it involves dancing, he doesn’t like being put on the spot – anyway and then Key umma hugs his son with this cute banner that just appeared out of nowhere. Then they do the REAL reveal and tell Key that he was the one being punk’ed and not Taemin. Ha, Key’s face at that moment was priceless – he was really shocked. Then Jonghyun says ‘blame the staff members’ and at that point, something pops and confetti flies everywhere. Pay close attention to what Onew does at that point – it’s so funny! And then it’s sort of like the show ended and you get to see the behind-the scenes because you see the boys apologizing and thanking the crew and eating the cake and playing around and talking about the whole fake fight thing. Ha, it’s cute – like the editors wanted us to get a glimpse of what they’re really like. Hmm, thanks editor-nims! (Lol, I don’t think that’s how you’d say it.) And then the narrator says we’ll have to wait “just one week” for the last episode. Awww…

So overall, the first half of this episode affirmed my love for Onew and then the second half reaffirmed my love for Key-ssi. Now that I think about it perhaps it’s a good thing Yunhanam’s ending now – I’m starting work next week, God willing and I’m going to be busy from now on so I probably won’t have as much spazz time as before (like that’s ever stopped me) but don’t worry, I’ll still be here – posting about the boys and spazzing away. So you’ve now come to the end of my recap (finally) – now go watch the episode yourselves (if you haven’t)! Comment, then go and laugh. Credit goes to the great shineesubs for all of their hard work as usual. They’re a great bunch! Oh, and here’s a picture from the super-cute fake photoshoot:

You can't possibly say this isn't cute...

Adios,

Maki.

It’s a SHINee World!

October 9, 2008

So do you remember that Minho fancam that I posted about a day or two ago – the one that I said was the BEST FANCAM EVER? Yes?/Yes? No? Doesn’t matter. Because I now have to take that honour back and give it to this fancam instead.

credit goes to misterkrabspatties on Youtube

Why, you ask? Because not only is the performance of SHINee World longer than the usual minute and a half but this fancam shows all of the members instead of just the lovely Flaming Charisma. Also the quality’s around the same as the Minho fancam so if you watched that, this one shouldn’t bother you. Honestly I’m so grateful for this fancam that I don’t even care that there’s no HQ although that would have been lovely. So yeah, watch it – because it’s amazing. Oh, and make sure to watch until the end – trust me, you will not regret it.

Over and out,

a starstruck Maki

Sansogateun!

October 9, 2008

I just realized why I love ‘Love Like Oxygen’ so much. It’s the dance.

You see, I never paid that much attention to the Replay dance (although it still managed to impress me) and I only watched about two Replay performances while I’ve watched the LLO MV – regular and dance versions – tons of times and I’ve seen pretty much every performance they’ve done of it (only on music shows though) and I’ve really come to love it. You know I didn’t like the song on my first listen – I mean, I didn’t even listen to the whole thing – I was just like “Eew, this sounds like some kind of Michael Jackson knock-off” and closed it down and that was it, I was pretty much ready to wash my hands of them BUT THEN I was looking for the MV for my friend, who is also a big SHINee fan – bigger than me initially – and when I found it, I figured “Hey, I might as well watch it – I mean, it was their dancing that impressed me in the first place so maybe they’ll have a cool dance in this video too”. AND THEY DID!

That seriously simplistic video – made up of just them dancing and some very nice close-ups – is what renewed my interest in SHINee and that was why I ended up watching their ‘comeback’ performance on Inkigayo of SHINee World and LLO and THAT was what really impressed me. That performance was incredible and it put SHINee back on my radar in a big way. You see, that’s what I love about them – they’re performers and really good ones at that – and they’re only going to get better. It’s a very nice thought.

So because I loved the video, I kept watching it over and over and over and eventually the song grew on me too. I mean, it took some time but I came around and I’m glad I did. Otherwise I would have missed out on some really great performances – and a hilarious reality show and kind of getting to know five amazing boys so I can understand if SHINee’s not your cup of tea but I think you should at least give them a chance if you haven’t already.

Love Like Oxygen MV – Regular version, Dance version and the first performance (including SHINee World)

Ah, I love these boys too much! Adios,

Maki

K-pop couplings

October 9, 2008

Okay, so I was trying not to post about about this because I realize that it’s apparently something that’s common to K-pop fandoms and because people are entitled to their opinions and therefore can think whatever they want but this is really bothering me and I have to get it out. You don’t have to agree with me – you probably won’t – but this is just my opinion and since this is a blog, it’s a place to express my opinions and so I think it should be okay for me to put this here.

So…ships are major parts of every fandom. I’ve been around fandom long enough to know that but I’ve always been a part of fiction fandoms – books, anime, etc. and this is really the first time I’ve ever been a part of a real person fandom. Now I did know going in that there was such a thing as ‘real person’ shipping and even ‘real person slash’ – I knew that but I realize now that I didn’t really know to what extent it exists…I mean, it doesn’t just exist, you know, it’s big, it’s rampant – there are couples (fan made/fan desired/fan shipped – whatever you want to call it) in every K-pop fandom that I’ve seen, even in the girl group ones which really surprised me, actually, because well, most of their fans are girls…but that’s beside the point.

Honestly, this is just kind of difficult for me to grasp – I mean, it’s one thing to be all for a couple that exists in real life but it’s another thing entirely to create couples based around your favourite group. I just – I don’t get it – why would you want to do that? I mean, isn’t it weird – shipping real people, writing fanfiction (some with some seriously questionable ratings) about real people? I mean, if you were a celebrity, would you want people doing that to you? I don’t know – it just seems really strange to me and I mean, I guess people can do whatever they want and it’s natural to want two people that you like, who spend a lot of time together, particularly if they’re very affectionate to each other to be together but isn’t writing fanfiction and drawing fanart and photoshopping pictures taking things a little too far? Am I really the only one who thinks so?

I mean, I’m not condemning anyone – I’m not going to tell anyone “Hey, you shouldn’t do that” because 1. they probably wouldn’t listen to me and 2. it’s not my place to do that but it just really bothers me and it seems to be becoming more and more rampant in the SHINee fandom and I just – it’s really turning me off of the fandom in general. I mean, I don’t want to leave – other than that, I really like the fandom, it’s a nice change from anime ones but this is getting really hard to ignore. I mean, I could ignore stuff like this in the Naruto fandom because there were tons of couples and I was used to slash but these are real people and I just don’t understand what’s wrong with them just being friends? I mean, I’m not saying that it’s unlikely or uncommon for two people, regardless of their sex to want to have a relationship like that, you know but I just think that maybe people are reading too much into it or just seeing what they want to see. And I mean I’m pretty sure that they (SHINee or their managers or whoever) know about it – because you cannot tell me that that ’suck-and-blow’ game in the last M!Countdown was anything other than fanservice but it just – it makes me wonder.

You see the problem I’ve always had with the myriad of slash pairings in any fandom is that I feel like people take a bond of friendship, just like the ones that we all have with other people, and twist it into something it’s usually not – and by doing that, sometimes I think you demean that bond. It’s like you’re saying that friendship’s not enough, that it has to be more than that, like it has to be a romantic relationship to really matter. I’m not saying that everyone thinks that – I’m not saying that some people aren’t just into it for the lulz, I mean, I’ve joked about JongKey too – but for some people, it seems like it really matters, like they really mean it – they want it to happen and they want it to happen now and I don’t know if I can deal with that. And I’m not saying it’s only on the net that it exists – I know that quite a few Korean fans are like that too. I don’t know – like I saw someone say “it’s a fandom – it’s a place for fans to express themselves” and I guess that’s just what this is – a form of expression…

Anyway I don’t know what to do because I’ve tried to avoid it but it isn’t easy, it really seems to be in every place I go – Soompi, LJ, SHINee Forums, Youtube – and I really don’t want to leave the fandom but if I can’t get away from it, I don’t know….

Anyway, like I said, I’m not trying to offend anyone, this is just my opinion – this is how I feel about K-pop couples and you don’t have to agree with me. Hmm, it does feel good to get that out though…it’s been bothering me for awhile so at least, something good came out of this. Kind of. Anyway, I’m going now.

Adios,

Maki.

Lying Low [EDITED]

October 8, 2008

So since Episode 11 of SHINee’s Yunhanam aired last night (in Korea), I’m going to be staying out of the official SHINee thread on Soompi for the majority of today because I don’t want to be spoiled. They already have synopses and screencaps and the like up and since I really want to be surprised, I’m going to be staying away from there until talk of episode 11 dies down.

Hmm, I think I’ll use the time to listen to the rest of IU’s mini-album and maybe watch the final episode of Hana-Kimi Japan. I’ve had that to watch for the past few months so I think it’s time I finally sit down and take it in. I’m sad it’s the last one though – it’s still my favourite drama, although Full House might change that.

edit:

Yeah, so I actually didn’t end up watching either of those shows…I did listen to the rest of IU’s mini-album though and I’m totally going to write a track by track review of it sooner or later. So what did I do, you ask, besides listening to IU? Well, I poked around Soompi for awhile, then I watched the two hour season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy that I missed because I had work to do (yes, I sacrificed tv for work! See – I’m improving…) and then I watched episode 1 of Soshi’s new reality show, Factory Girl – subbed by the lovely soshisubs.

I only watched it because I was hoping to get an idea about their new concept (no such luck) and because I don’t really know the members so I figured the show would help me get to know them. And I did (kind of) – I learned Sunny at least and I think she’s kind of cool – she’s braver than me by far and that is always a plus.I also didn’t expect it would be so funny – I mean, it’s no match for Yunhanam but those girls can be pretty humourous too. I’m actually going to check out episode two – we’ll see from there. I was supposed to check out their other show, Girls Go to School but I think this one will be more interesting… Ah, who knows? This show might be what it takes to finally turn me into an SNSD fan.

Ha, over and out,

Maki

P.S: If you leave a negative comment about SNSD, I will delete it. Don’t bring that stuff into my blog, okay? Thanks!
